Highly regarded local udon shop. One of the top 100 udon place rated by tabelog. It’s very local means if you don’t speak Japanese. You will have hard time here. Signature dish is the cabbage and horse meat udon. Udon is very thick and chewy. Broth is bald and umami. Rich in flavors. Cash only.
An extremely local restaurant where you can find the Fuji-Yoshida style Udon. Their noodles are freshly made in their kitchen everyday, and are more chewy than normal Udon. Highly recommend to those who want to try the udon in a local style, tho Japanese Speaking seems like a must there.
Miura Udon two days in a row. I’ll be leaving Fujiyoshida and I felt sad, wondering when I’ll have the chance to have this udon again. I really love the old story of Fujiyoshida, where men make udon while women weave fabrics. The taste of their udon dough perfectly matches this story.
Great udon place - food was really delicious! Very fast service and high customer turnover. Japanese speaking only, but we managed to get by with pointing and gesturing. Traditional Japanese style of sitting (on the floor). There are a number of parking spots outside the shop.
Try the local udon, good taste and it’s the horse meat, energy charge before / after climbing Mt. Arakura
Great food, kind attention of the staff, and beautiful place.
Had a very delicious meal. Staff was very friendly and showed me a picture menu so I could order even without speaking Japanese. Be aware that there are no chairs, so you will have to sit on the floor, however this creates kind of an authentic feel. The place seemed to be popular by locals as well. Prices are reasonably cheap, I had the large size which was ¥640.
The firmness of the udon noodles is exquisite, and it feels like al dente pasta from a three-star restaurant in Rome. And the price is double digits lower. It's worth traveling all the way from Tokyo to eat these udon noodles.
